Rote Islands’ remoteness is what makes it so special… travelling here is part of the adventure!
Most visitors travel from Bali to Rote. It’s a 1.5-hour flight from Bali to Kupang and then a 30-minute flight from Kupang to Rote. Alternatively, there is a daily ferry from Kupang to Rote that takes 2hrs.
If you have the flexibility, we recommend planning at least a 10 day holiday to allow for travel time and enable at least a week to soak up beautiful Rote. Coordinating your Rote departure on a day flights are in operation will cut down your travel.
