Big waves and big hearts

Waves

If you dream of paradise in search of the perfect wave, Rote is your destination. Directly out the front of our place is the seldom surfed Petrol Bombs for the more advanced surfer.

A short motor scooter ride north to Nemberala beach is the legendary T-Land.

A 200m long world class left hander. Although it is a reef break all levels of surfing ability find it suitable and soft under foot. The wave is quite forgiving and the bigger it gets the more mercy it shows. It’s fun under 8 feet, but best from 8 feet and up. Over 10 feet it is one of the best, perfect big wave spots around.

Explore

A short bike ride further north will bring you to a playful beginner's wave called Squeelers. Further up the coast is a very hollow right-hander called Sukinamon.

Heading towards the south of our place, you will come across Boa, a long and often hollow right-hander that can pack a punch. There are many more waves to explore and experience in your own time.

There’s more to do than just surf

There are so many fun activities on Rote Island

  • Fishing
  • Snorkeling
  • Kayaking

Rote is a game fishermans must do. Teeming with pelagics, Spanish Mackeral, Wahoo, Dog-Tooth Tuna, we can point you in the right direction to hook one for yourself.

Guest Access

We can provide you with motor scooters in order to explore all that Rote has to offer.

Explore the outer islands and take in some game fishing while you're there on our twin outboard 7.6m fibreglass boat, the Kura Kura. #Note that our boat is available during the dry season months from April through to November.

We have stand up paddle boards and surfboards for those who choose not to travel on flights with them. Also available are masks/fins to check out the underwater life.

Other things to note

There are a variety of restaurants available on this rapidly growing tourism gem so you can try them out or simply advise our staff if you would like to enjoy their cooking.

We can hook you up with fishing charters or scuba diving expeditions.
